Liang Man Qi (b. 1986) takes the geometrical shape and colour as a method to understand herself and her surroundings, as well as the passage to embrace the psychological uncertainty, contradiction, and conflict. The seemingly logical visual symbols on canvas are balanced through the artist’s abundant sensibility and emotional order.
The exhibition presents the artist's exploration of the emergence of things in parallel or conflicting time and space, as well as their interwoven states. The artworks take on a new visual form, as Liang adds another layer of dimensional space to her continued personal style. In the paintings, there are sketch-like elements delineated with materials such as oil pastels and charcoal, which appear in the same frame with compositions of colour and geometry in different proportions, creating an engaging visual contrast for the viewers.
